Use google maps without a connection
Google just officially launched its new offline feature for its Maps app which lets you download and save a segment of a map,
so you can use it to find your way around even when you don't have mobile data or wi-fi. It's especially handy when you're traveling and don't have any cell service.
This function isn't entirely new — you've been able to simply view an area of a map offline for a while — but now Google gives you turn-by-turn driving directions, the ability to search on an offline map, and local business information.
