15 Tech billionaires below 40yrs and the ideas that made them billionaires


At an age where most youths are busy in the classrooms with tests and examinations, or practicing job interview questions, today's tech billionaire already have 10 zeros to their worth.


Most of the persons on the list were yet to complete their university education when they made their first  billion, 6 out of the 15 dropped out of university and 1 of them didn't even see the walls of a university.


15. ROBERT PERA


Net worth: $2 billion.    Age: 37        Source: Wireless Network

Robert Pera left his job at mega tech company Apple to form his own company Ubiquity Networks, making wireless products to provide internet access via WIFI and became a billionaire 6 years after. In 2012 he became the owner of NBA club Memphis Grizzlies.

Evan Spiegel is not only the youngest tech billionaire but is also the youngest billionaire in the world. He with two other co-founded Snapchat, a mobile app that enables the user to record videos, take photos, add text and send to a contact.

The 1999 university dropout is the co-founder of social media giant Twitter and founder of the $6 billion software and hardware company SQUARE. SQUARE products enable users to make payment with their smart phones.

In 2008 Zhou Yahui founded Kunlun Technologies in China, an online game developer and distributor.



11. Sean Parker

Sean Parker did not even see the walls of a university talk less of being a dropout but was taught programming by his Father and he began to make money with his skill. At 19 in 1999 he founded Napster, a file sharing service and at 24 became the founding President of facebook.

Brian Chesky with two others founded the website airbnb.com (Air bed and breakfast). The idea of the website began when he and his friend and now co-founder were renting out their rooms to guest who came for a conference in their city but could not find hotel accomodation.
