Spot and avoid an online banking scam.


The internet is a wonderful invention that has seen tremendous growth in the world, however, it is a home to scams that have been around since the internet began. One popular scam is the bank scam that seeks to steal your identity, protect yourself with the following below;



THE METHOD




You receive a mail warning you about a security breach related to your bank account. The email contains a link taking you to your "bank".




You login using your username, credit card number and passwordpassword.



The criminals steal your credit card details, money and identity.


AVOID BEING A VICTIM, TAKE NOTE THESE WARNING SIGNS.



Never click on links to your bank via email, copy the link and paste on the browser.

The email address is not a regular email address, it is suspicious.

The link is incorrect, e.g. http://yourbankname.somethingstrange.com

The email is URGENT. You must take action now. Your bank will not penalize you for ignoring an email.
