Mark Zuckerberg now a father, plans to give out 99% of his fortune

"We're so happy to welcome our daughter Max into this world. Everyone is happy and healthy. Thank you for all your love and support through our pregnancy. There is so much joy in our little family." This is what Mark Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page on being a father.

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, posted a letter on Facebook on tuesday to their daughter, Max. The letter is far longer and more serious than “Pat the Bunny.” In it, the parents said they plan to give away 99 percent of their Facebook shares currently worth $45 billion during their lifetimes to contribute to such fields as “personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities.”

The couple’s move puts them in line with other tech executives who have given away huge wealth to philanthropic efforts. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife set up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which “works to reduce inequities around the world.”
